My work at Kingsley Plantation in Timucuan Ecological and Historical Preserve, a unit of the National Park Service, involved biweekly visits to the site to collect and process the contents of a concentrated sample. Once population density and species data is collected, the IDs are sent to the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) databases. With this data, the NOAA and the National Park Service can better understand and respond to harmful algal blooms.
